Job Description
Company Summary: Our client is a technology-driven, global health care company that develops and commercializes specialty pharmaceutical products for the eye care, neuromuscular, skin care and other specialty pharmaceutical products.

Position Description
Manages the planning, approval and execution of high quality, cost effective Clinical Research Investigator Meetings and training seminars. Manages all vendor supplied services and functions in conjunction with these meetings as well as group air and ground travel through contracted negotiations with major carriers.

Position Requirements

  • Experience equivalent to a four year college education with an emphasis in business administration, communications, public relations or related field.
  • Current and accurate knowledge of hotel, air travel, and event planning industry.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a meeting planner; experience with hotel negotiations and contract review preferred. Experience with medical industry, seminars and training programs preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, to deal effectively with senior management and external business contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle conflict, resolve problems and manage well in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be proactive, organized, enthusiastic, maintain flexibility and respond to requests from senior management while staying within budgetary guidelines.
  • Must be an independent, dependable, self motivated individual, capable of effective time management and capable of managing budgetary responsibilities.
  • Must be able to routinely meet tight deadlines and meet high quality standards in a cost effective manner.
  • Must be willing to travel and maintain a rigorous daily schedule.
  • Must stay current with industry trends and develop programs to enhance skills in technical areas.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel.
