Top Candidate Qualities: • MD or MD/PhD. • Specialization in infectious diseases. • 5-10 years in pharmaceutical / biotech clinical research. • Experience and understanding of the design and implementation of clinical studies and protocols is required, in addition to experience in overseeing the effective execution of clinical research programs. • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to motivate others. • High morale, collegiality, a strong work ethic, effective teamwork and the highest of ethical standards. • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. • Flexible and adaptable personality to enhance success in the culture. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, but with a respect for process.

This position will be responsible for key aspects of post-marketing studies for company’s drug candidates, including: developing overall program goals that support key marketing strategies; design of clinical trials to meet program goals; building and maintaining direct oversight of a medical science liaison group; opinion leader advocacy development; supporting and conducting medical education programs and reviewing and approving internal and external medical and marketing communications (i.e. with prescribers, clinical experts and US regulatory bodies) and oversight and direction of medical information services. Growth in the responsibilities associated with this position is anticipated, as current drug candidates gain marketing approval.

Job Responsibilities Include: • In conjunction with joint medical affairs, marketing and other staff, develops and executes upon the phase IV clinical strategy to support key product and marketing strategies. • Works with clinical, marketing and others in the collaboration, to design and execute post-marketing clinical studies meeting agreed project goals. • Works with marketing and clinical to develop and communicate strategy and messages in support of our infectious disease products. • Oversees a group of medical science liaisons engaged in medical education initiatives and key opinion leader development. • Interacts extensively with external clinical and scientific experts. • Oversees and participates in public presentations and publications supporting the marketing of our products. • Oversees and directs administrative functions and budgets of the US Business Unit Medical Group. • As appropriate interacts with Business Development and Licensing to evaluate new opportunities related to the company’s drug development goals. • Oversight of medical information function. • Medical input and guidance in the marketing and publication plan.
