Position Descripion and Responsibilities The International Tax & Transfer Pricing Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Tax – International and the corporate tax team with the company’s international tax and transfer pricing responsibilities. The Manager will provide a critical role in planning, implementation, compliance, documentation, and defense of the corporations operations, transfer pricing, and tax structure and positions and will work closely with the global tax team including its European and Asia Pacific tax managers. This position will be responsible for transfer pricing planning, research, certain US and foreign compliance, audit and defense both in the US and foreign jurisdictions, and FAS 109 and FIN 48 reporting and disclosures as they relate to international tax and transfer pricing matters and issues. The position will be responsible for supporting the Director of Tax–International with the company’s transfer pricing policies and procedures including supporting the corporations global tax team and the Business Units with the development, implementation, and monitoring of those policies and procedures. Responsibilities include strategy, direction, and alignment of policies and practices with overall business and tax goals and objectives as well as compliance with worldwide laws, regulations, and documentation requirements, education of the Finance and Controllership teams, monitoring and communication of results. The Manager provides a critical role in coordinating with worldwide finance and tax personnel, financial reporting systems and advisors and is responsible for:
Proactive tax planning, tax efficient structuring and business integration, risk identification and mitigation strategies, and support of certain US and foreign compliance and audit defense.
Providing support to, and ultimately leading, the development, implementation, and monitoring of global transfer pricing policies, procedures, and results;
Coordinating and working effectively with worldwide tax, finance, and controllership personnel as well as outside tax providers to understand, identify, educate, and implement necessary revisions and modifications to the transfer pricing structure;
Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements in the intercompany distribution and pricing process;
Developing and implementing annual documentation and compliance methods, procedures, and routines;
FAS 109 and FIN 48 reporting as it relates to international tax and transfer pricing matters
Supporting the Tax and Finance teams in identifying key business metrics and developing underlying systems, processes and procedures to efficiently deliver them. Metrics include product line, manufacturing site, and legal entity profitability;
Process improvement.
Requirements: The successful candidate will be an experienced Tax or Finance professional with significant financial analysis and data systems skills, outstanding analytical, creativity and problem solving skills, and unquestioned integrity and trustworthiness who can demonstrate the following:
Experience and Technical Qualifications: 5+ years relevant tax and transfer pricing experience within public accounting and/or corporate environments;
Excellent accounting and analytical skills;
Working knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48
Possess an understanding and appreciation for the role and importance of effective and proactive tax and transfer pricing within the overall tax, finance, and controllership functions;
Six Sigma training or equivalent is strongly preferred; Strong educational achievement demonstrated via Bachelor’s Degree in related field (required); CPA preferred; MBA or MST attractive.
Strong systems knowledge and skills with SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, HFM, Business Objects, Excel, and other database tools preferred;
Leadership and Organization: Excellent organizational and project management skills;
Diligent and thorough, with an attention to detail;
Self starter, self motivated, resilient, and tenacious with a clear bias for action;
Ability to work effectively in a matrix reporting environment.
Communications: Excellent written and oral communication skills;
