Job Description
KV Pharmaceutical is seeking an Analytical Research Scientist to join our Analytical Research Laboratory and the Quality Control Laboratory. The successful candidate will review, evaluate and develop methods that will improve accuracy, precision, sensitivity to formulation conditions acceptability to regulatory agencies. You will also validate analytical methods and write complete, concise validation reports in the standard KV format. In addition, you should be able to provide leadership and mentoring in technical areas of methods development and dissolution testing. Supervise the validation of analytical methods by the chemists and assemble/ correlate validation data for and writing/presenting technical reports.

You should be able to complete chemical, physical or instrumental assays on any pharmaceutical product, in-process material, or raw material for assigned products/projects; operate all laboratory instrumentation with skill and understanding. This includes UV-visible spectrophotometer, infra-red spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrometer, fluorometer, gas chromatograph, HPLC, autoanalyzer, dissolution equipment, and other lab instruments as required; use and understand analytical techniques such as titration, solvent extractions, thin layer chromatography and liquid chromatography (normal phase, reverse phase, cation exchange).

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D in Physical or Analytical Chemistry or equivalent industrial experience; minimum four years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in HPLC method development and multiple dosage forms (semi-solids, liquid, solid, and IR/ER dosage) are also necessary.
