Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Research and Development, the Senior Research Scientist will have responsibility for developing solid, pharmaceutical oral dosage forms, including pre-formulation and formulation development of generic and branded products. The successful candidate will conduct evaluations of new excipients and active drug compounds, develop solid oral, controlled release tablets and capsules, analyze physical and analytical data using IVIVC software, initiate and monitor stability data, and monitor developed products from the technical transfer through the production manufacturing stages. You will have the opportunity to assist in technology transfer from R & D to production and provide manufacturing support of assigned products.

Bachelor of Science in chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or related area, masters or PhD preferred. Two plus years of experience in solid dosage formulation is preferred. You must have detailed working knowledge of pharmaceutical ingredients, familiarity with manufacturing processing and testing equipment, knowledge and understanding of preformulation (solubility, stability, pKa values, polymorphism, drug/excipients interactions), and the ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs, statistical analysis and PK/PD predictive modeling. It is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of chemical and physical properties of active ingredients and excipients.
