Job Description
KV Pharmaceutical is seeking a Research Scientist to design and develop pharmaceuticals for our expanding vitamins group. This would include all aspects of pre-formulation and formulation development activities and monitoring of all stabilities projects. The successful candidate will be able to write and issues product development reports, development specifications and other documentation as requested. She/he will conduct literature and patent searches to identify appropriate formulation approach and design strategy. As well as assist in technology transfer from R&D to production and provides manufacturing support for established vitamin products and collaborate with various other R&D functional personnel as needed to complete assignments.
Other responsibilities the Research Scientist will be responsible for include: writing Manufacturing Batch Records, Development Reports, QOS, protocols and other reports in support of Regulatory efforts, perform routine physical assays such as particle size or weight variation; develop pharmaceutical dosage forms and performs laboratory scale-up experiments of new technologies based upon feasibility success. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of pharmaceutical ingredients, manufacturing processing equipment and testing equipment with ability to coordinate multiple drug delivery or dosage form development projects and complete them with limited supervision.
The Research Scientist will need to have knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, and FDA guidelines, understanding of experimental design using statistical techniques, understanding of chemical and physical properties of active ingredients and excipients, Working knowledge of biological systems with regard to acceptability, tolerance and toxicity of major classes of chemical compounds/drugs. A BS, MS, PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering is required.
We are seeking individuals who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, offers an organized approach to providing timely accurate reports, can multi-task, prioritize, and is proficient in Microsoft Office.
