KV Pharmaceutical seeks a Senior Research Scientist of Innovation. The successful candidate will conceptualize and determine the feasibility of new drug delivery platforms for generic and branded products followed by laboratory development and subsequent scale-up of clinical supplies for human or animal testing. In this role, you will develop new drug delivery dosage forms including all aspects of preformulation and formulation development activities and monitors all stabilities pertaining to assigned projects. The successful candidate will assist in the research and writing of records of invention as appropriate, write and issue product development reports, development specifications and other documentation. If you have experience conducting literature and patent searches to identify appropriate formulation approach and design strategy, can assist in technology transfer from R&D to production, and provide manufacturing support for established products apply today. We are seeking an individual who can conduct and participate in various technical meetings or discussion with internal groups or external alliances pertaining to development efforts or technology as well as direct the work of various other R&D functional personnel.
MS, PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or related area required. PhD with minimum of two years of pharmaceutical industrial experience or a MS with minimum of 8 years of industrial experience in solids dosage form formulation. If you are sophisticated in IVIVC software, equipment instrumentation, and statistical programs such as DOE experimental design apply today. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of pharmaceutical ingredients, manufacturing processing equipment and testing equipment, the ability to coordinate multiple drug delivery or dosage form development projects, and knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, FDA guildelines and SOPs. You will need to understand experimental design using statistical techniques, understand chemical and physical properties of active ingredients and excipients, and working knowledge of the gross limitations of biological systems with regard to acceptability, tolerance and toxicity of major classes of chemical compounds/drugs, excipients and delivery platform materials. Advanced knowledge of pharmacokinetics as it applies to development of dosage forms is preferred. Knowledge and understanding in scientific principles and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical development is also preferred. We are seeking individuals who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, math skills, can multi-task, prioritize, and are proficient in Microsoft Office.
