Job Description
Purpose:
Under the direction of the VP Sales, and guidance of National Sales Director, the Sales Trainer is responsible for developing and instructing training programs for advancing Merz Pharmaceuticals sales teams product knowledge, selling skills, administrative capabilities, and company ethics / standards, which will allow for individuals to perform at or above industry standards.
Essential Duties:
·Design and implement training programs
·Conduct Initial sales training class
·Assist in hiring of district sales managers & field sales representatives
·Coach and counsel during field visits with new field sales Representatives
·Assist management in terminations
·Create new training material / manuals, memos, etc.
·Monitor competition and report activities to management and sales representatives
·Evaluate and develop new advanced training seminars for Senior Sales Representatives and Sales Management
·Assist in development of sales contests
·Assist in developing marketing initiatives
·Manage vendor relationships to develop advanced training workshops
·Maintain trainers database through SPBT membership to be kept up to date on latest industry trends
·Initiate and track district manager training programs
·Internal Contacts including: Sales Administration, Manufacturing, Regulatory,
Finance, Marketing, Managed Markets, Human Resources, and Training
·External Contacts including:District Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, Dermatologists, Podiatrists, Pharmacists / PharmD, and Nurses

Minimum Requirements:
·4 year college degree required
·Prior pharmaceutical field sales experience strongly preferred
·Excellent interpersonal skills
·Strong verbal and written communication skills
·Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time
