    Job Description

    Title : Associate Director, Analytical Development

     

    Metro-Boston, MA

    The Associate Director, Analytical Development plays an important role in managing the activities of staff members in support of the development of Company Pharmaceutical products. key responsibilities for this role include:

    - Coordinate the activities of one or more groups, with each group consisting of a small team of high level individual contributors, or subordinate supervisors, and having a common, discrete, scientific focus of providing analytical support to the Chemical Development and Formulation Development departments

    - Utilizing an expertise in pharmaceutical analysis, along with experience managing analytical scientists, to ensure that suitable methods are in place to support Company development programs

    - Define the scientific directions of your team and team members, mentoring staff member development and nurturing technological innovation

    - Serve as key contact with other departments involved in the development process (Formulation, Chemical Development, Regulatory, and Quality)

    - serve as a key member of the Analytical Development Leadership Team which provides leadership and strategy for development of technology, projects, people, systems, and quality.


    Minimum Requirements:
    - A Ph.D. in the life sciences with a preference for a concentration in analytical chemistry

    - 8+ years of current, related and practical experience in the pharmaceutical industry

    - Experience with HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and GMP

    - 5+ years experience direct management and supervisory experience

    - Excellent leadership, teamwork and organizational skills

    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    - The ability to collaborate effectively with other scientists in a multidisciplinary project team environment

    - Past success while working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, team environment

    - Innovative and detail oriented, exhibiting a sound scientific approach to data interpretation and experimental design

    - Established scientific credentials with strong theoretical understanding of analytical chemistry and the pharmaceutical development process
